AI agent development services that do real work
An AI agent is software that reads a goal, decides which tools to call and keeps going until the job is done. I build custom AI agents that work inside your business: they look things up in your data, take actions in your systems and hand off to a person when they should.
Custom AI agent development for real workflows
Good agents start from a workflow, not a model. I map the steps a person does today, decide which ones an agent can own, and give it exactly the tools and data those steps need, with limits on what it is allowed to do on its own.
- Agents built on the Claude Agent SDK, the Claude API or OpenAI
- Tools that call your APIs, database and third-party apps
- Memory and retrieval over your own documents and data
- MCP servers so Claude and other assistants can use your product
- Guardrails, human approval steps, logging and cost limits
Agents I have built and run
Pair runs a streaming AI agent with long-term memory in pgvector, coaching users day after day inside a native iOS app. ServeStack Studio is a multi-agent pipeline where director, copy and autopilot agents go from trend research to a scripted, storyboarded and generated video ad.
ServeStack ships an MCP server and an agentic checkout, so AI assistants can browse a restaurant menu and place an order, plus a Claude concierge that answers guests. I also maintain an open-source MCP Server Starter in TypeScript.
Hire an AI agent developer instead of an AI agent development company
Agencies sell AI agent development as a team: a strategist, a project manager and the engineers you never meet. When you hire me, the person scoping the agent is the person building it, so the design decisions and the code stay in one head.
A typical project starts with a short call and a written scope: the workflow, the tools the agent gets, what it must never do and how we will measure it. I build in weekly releases you can try on a preview, then deploy with monitoring and the controls to switch it off.
AI agents for small business
Small businesses get the most from narrow agents that do one job well: answering customers from your real information, qualifying leads, preparing quotes or keeping records in sync between tools. Start with one, measure the hours it saves, then add the next.

Questions
What does an AI agent developer do?
Designs and builds software where a language model plans and takes actions through tools: calling APIs, querying data and updating systems, with the guardrails, logging and approvals that make it safe to run.
How much does it cost to build an AI agent?
It depends on how many tools and systems the agent touches and how much autonomy it gets. Published ranges run from about $5,000 to $400,000 or more; my cost guide breaks them down. I scope one workflow first and give a fixed price for it, plus an estimate of the monthly model costs to run it.
Which models and frameworks do you use?
Mostly the Claude Agent SDK and the Claude API, plus OpenAI where it fits, with MCP for connecting tools. I build so the model can be swapped later.
Can an AI agent work with our existing software?
Yes. That is the main job: giving the agent tools that call your existing APIs, database or apps, or building an MCP server for your product so assistants like Claude can use it.
Do you work with small businesses?
Yes. Small businesses are often the best fit for a single, focused agent that saves hours every week.
